Windows XP Service Pack 3 and AMD processors

I discovered that installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 on an HP computer with an AMD processor can lead to a "blue screen of death." In general, you should have "automatic update" for Windows updates turned on to receive the latest security releases. You can select to either install automatically or to install whenever you wish.
